Richard McMurtry

is Project Coordinator, Santa Clara County Creeks Coalition. Richard worked for the San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board for 28 years, the last 5 years of which were stationed at the Santa Clara Valley Water District working to improve the effectiveness of the multi-stakeholder Santa Clara Basin Watershed Management Initiative. After retiring in 2005, he catalyzed the formation of the Santa Clara County Creeks Coalition whose mission is to transform creeks to be “living streams” by getting local agencies, state and federal regulatory agencies and local environmental non-profit organizations to pull in the same direction with respect to the restoration of the ecological functions of our streams.
