Amy Merrill, PhD, Senior Riparian Ecologist
Amy has more than 20 years of experience in riparian and ecosystem ecology, restoration, and watershed management; her focus is on the interface between hydrology, fluvial geomorphology, and plant community composition. Amy also has expertise in soil and ground water biogeochemistry, carbon sequestration and greenhouse gas dynamics in meadows, wetlands and riparian systems. She is currently leading several projects in which Stillwater is applying an ecosystem services framework to quantify existing and potential environmental benefits associated with changes in resource management. Amy has led multiple riparian vegetation mapping, restoration and monitoring efforts in northern California and Oregon. As an adjunct faculty member at the University of San Francisco, Amy teaches Riparian Ecology and Watershed Management. During her free time, Amy loves to hike up creeks, camp, ski, and play outside with her family and friends.
